Overview

Toekicks are sold seperately to all SmartCab cabinets. A toekick is needed to cover the cabinetry feet for a clean and tidy finish.

Tools & Materials

  • Toekick board
  • Screws
  • Screwdriver
  • Silicon sealant
  • Caulking gun

Steps

1

Measure and cut

You may need to cut the kickboards to suit your cabinet height or the lie of the floor. Kickboards are 150mm high, so mesure the height of the adjustable legs (including the glide) and if necessary, scribe your kickboards to ensure a snug fit.

2

Fasten and press

Position these in line with the cabinets’ feet and then screw these to the kickboards. Once you have installed all of your cabinets it is time to take the final measurements for your bench top.

Remember to allow for an overhang if you need. The standard depth of benchtops is 600mm which includes an overhang of 20mm from the front of the cabinets. You can have any overhang at the ends of the benchtop unless it is against a wall. Breakfast bar standard depth is 900mm, giving a 300mm overhang for stools.

3

Seal it up

Sealing the gap between the wall and filler panel is a good idea. You’ll need a good quality brand of silicon sealant and a caulking gun. Before you begin, tape alongside the area to be sealed.
